The Unbearable Rightness of Barbara Comstock

Barbara Comstock would stand comfortably in the muck and the mire of the corporate financed GOP  Plutocracy, as those are her origins and background. Her votes and adherence to policies representing ALEC & Koch Industries in the Virginia House of Delegates have left Virginians struggling for jobs, fair wages, benefits and affordable healthcare.
She has voted no to bipartisan transportation bills as Frank Wolf before her has done. Barbara Comstock has voted no on funding for teacher pay raises and more in-state slots in Virginia's colleges and universities. She has voted no to expand healthcare to 250,000 Virginians who have none.
But it's not all no votes. Barbara Comstock has voted yes to banning many forms of common contraception. She's voted yes to mandatory transvaginal ultrasounds. Barbara has voted yes to allowing concealed weapons in bars. What could possibly go wrong with that? Don't we have a Constitutional right to get hammered with our friends and our guns?
As a ALEC and Koch Delegate, Barbara has also voted yes to reducing state employee retirement benefits, which amounts to a betrayal of promises made for their years of service.

It was completely unfair of Foust to claim Barbara hasn't had a real job. I'm certain that what John meant to say is that Barbara Comstock never had a job serving real people, but only jobs serving corporate and partisan interests. Her tenure as a senior aide to Frank Wolf was mostly spent frantically and voraciously researching the Clintons for anything that the republican party could use to discredit the first family. After that she tirelessly performed opposition research for the GW Bush presidential campaign.
Barbara's worked with National Right to Work pimp and political bag man, Dimitri Kesari, and the Workforce Fairness Institute to erode pay, worker's rights and benefits for America's wage earners. But it's not all negative research Barbara has worked on, she also spent time constructing the republican playbook defending numerous GW Bush appointees such as John Ashcroft. She also sprang to the aid of California's Jerry Lewis, named one of the 15 most corrupt members of Congress in his day, Lewis 'Scooter' Libby, and Texas Representative Tom Delay prior to the pair's convictions and sentencing to prison. Her Law/PR firm, Corallo Comstock, dedicated itself to defending Bush administration aides, where so much malfeasance came up, it was practically a cottage industry for the firm.

Her lobbying career is nearly as long and storied. Her firm lobbied for the same Indian casino that snared the felon, Jack Abramoff. Barbara also helped Carnival Cruise Lines pocket 236 million in federal funds to provide emergency housing for Hurricane Katrina victims left homeless by the disaster. Later it was found that Carnival, using half-empty vessels, charged four times the allowable rate.

Barbara Comstock's view of the world and the political landscape is precisely why the republican party does not have a dominant control over national politics and must resort to obstruction, shutdowns and legislative hostage taking to make their mark for their corporate handlers.

But don't get me wrong, I'm alright with Barbara Comstock working in Washington. I just don't think the work address should be on Capitol Hill.

Kudos to Romney on his "Say Anything, Everything and Nothing" campaign tour. His theme song today should be Lou Reed's "Dirty Boulevard". Nothing like taking a 14 year old quote out of context and running on it. The sad reality is that for the last 40 years or more, we have had redistribution as policy in America, both on the state and the federal level. We saddle the poor and working class with more and more of the debt and the tax burden, shifting that burden off of business and wealthy individuals. While it hasn't worked well for those responsible for that burden, it has worked swimmingly well for businesses and the wealthy in this country. All the 99% or the 47% want is an equitable playing and paying field. We move further and further away from that with every republican elected to office whether it's at the local, state or federal level. All patriots, progressives and those that love their country, owe a debt of gratitude to Mitt Romney. He not only selflessly showed us his core, but the core of the republican party. I admire his courage for cutting right to the chase, saving progressives countless hours of precious time in raising the alarm concerning the threats our Republic faces from determined and overwhelming plutocratic and oligarchical forces. There are far more than just 47% of Americans that are victims of the historic betrayal by the GOP.

According to the New York Magazine, Honey Boo Boo is the new Shirley Temple. No she isn't. She's Baby Jessica without the well.  My prediction is that she will be a substance abuser by 9, knocked up by a close relative before the age of 12, and if still breathing at 15, both doctors Drew and Phil will exclaim "I'm outta here."

"I am here to tell you with certainty that Mitt Romney is ahead by 15 point in Ohio, 21 points in Massachusetts, and 9 points in Florida. Victory will be his as he crushes the Kenyan infidel. Do not believe the lies you hear from the homosexual devils at CNN and MSNBC."
I've been telling you David Gregory was a Mic Stand, but you didn't believe me.

"As I've previously stated, based on my past experience in elections, I've found that when I explain to the voters what my intentions are, they tend not to vote for me. That being said, I can pledge to the American people my solemn promise to posthumously baptize the middle class, allowing them all to participate in the Heavenly Kingdom. Think of it as a voucher to paradise. Now if people have their own coverage through their religion or have decided to take their chances and go without coverage, that's their decision. My guess is that Joseph Smith doesn't want them up there anyway."
